Wednesday, July 31st from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET

Join the American Philosophical Society in learning about the naturalists and natural history that resides in our current exhibition, Sketching Splendor: American Natural History, 1750-1850. Spanning the whole exhibition and many aspects of natural history, this program will cover many stories and highlights.

William Bartram, Titian Ramsay Peale II, John James Audubon, these are just a few of the naturalists you’ll encounter in our program. Join Education Programs Manager Ali Rospond, to learn about who these naturalists were and about natural history in general as she does a 30/30 introduction: 30 naturalists and natural history topics in 30 minutes.

The flash talk will be about the naturalists, plants, and animals represented in our exhibition and their stories. Afterwards, there will be activities and the exhibition will be open for viewing.

Please note that photographs or video may be taken by APS staff throughout the event for educational and/or promotional materials.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessing this event, please contact the education office at [email protected]. We appreciate two weeks of advance notice for any accommodation requests.
