Eugenicists promoted their discriminatory agenda at state fairs. Flashing signs like the one shown here highlighted the spread of supposed “unfit” traits believed to be hereditary, such as “feeblemindedness, epilepsy, criminality, insanity, alcoholism, pauperism, and many others.”
