The Society's offices and museum are closed on November 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The museum is open Saturday and Sunday November 30 and December 1.

Cotton Root was brought over from Africa during the seed trade and was often repurposed as medicine and an abortifacient by enslaved communities on plantations.
