Coat of Arms of Calvert family of Maryland from Mason-Dixon “Crownstone”

William M. Lee, 1877

Plaster cast of original

“Crownstones” marked the Mason-Dixon Line every five miles. These were marked “M” on the Maryland side and “P” on the Pennsylvania side, and showed the coats of arms of the Calvert and Penn families. Today, many are still visible.
