The APS’s Library holds the largest collection of Darwin correspondence outside England along with 4,800 printed items in many languages. This volume, On the Origin of Species in Amharic, adds to those holdings as it is the only translation of this work into an Ethiopic language, the first translation into any African language, and the only edition published on the African continent.
