Philadelphia Regional Teachers! Join the Education Programs team at the APS for an evening professional development program for middle school and high school teachers. Using the collections available online from the American Philosophical Society, this workshop will encourage educators to explore the use of primary sources in their teaching. Learn from the APS staff how to navigate and incorporate archives and APS’s digital resources into your classroom. Tour our new exhibition Philadelphia, the Revolutionary City with a guide and learn about the APS’s school tour programs. Dive into lesser known stories from Revolutionary War era Philadelphia through the Revolutionary City portal project. We will provide engaging professional development activities for teachers to think about how primary sources can be used to uncover different histories and reveal source biases.
