APS Museum Tours

School Groups (for K-12 schools, homeschool organizations, and college/ university courses)

Visiting Independence Hall or another Old City institution with your students?  Include a tour at the APS museum or library as part of your field trip. We offer engaging tours of our current APS Museum exhibition, which can be scheduled Monday - Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (subject to availability). School groups must have at least 5 people.  Tours cost $2.00 per child (below the age of 18) and $5.00 per adult. School District of Philadelphia schools as well as any Title I schools and chaperons are free. Two weeks or more advance notice is required when scheduling tours. Guided Tours for the General Public 

Guided tours of the current APS Museum exhibition can be scheduled Monday - Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (subject to availability). If you plan to visit the exhibition in a group or with 6 or more people Thursdays - Sundays, when the Museum is open to the public:

• Please let us know in advance. The exhibition space is small, so notice of large groups allows us to ensure a positive visitor experience for all guests. We strongly recommend booking a tour for groups of this size Mondays - Wednesday as our gallery can be quite busy during regular hours.  
• The APS reserves the right to interpret the content of the exhibitions. All group tours must be conducted by APS staff. No outside tour guides will be permitted to lead tours of our exhibition. Our Museum Guides are highly trained and more than happy to answer any of your questions.
• We can provide exhibition overviews or quick introductions to the exhibitions and content during regular hours. Let us know in advance and we will work with you to accommodate your group.
